Multiple Teeth Dental Implants San Diego and North County

Multiple Teeth Implants San DiegoAdvances in modern dentistry have made it possible to replace failing or missing teeth to their most natural condition. This is quite a progress compared to a couple of decades ago when people with missing teeth had no choice but to putting up with bulky and unnatural dentures.

Dental implants replace missing teeth to their most natural condition, and greatly enhance esthetics. Using this innovative and modern technology, millions of patients with implant teeth are able to eat comfortably and smile and interact socially with confidence. Dental implants feel so natural that quite often patients even forget that they have dental implants.

How Is The Procedure Done?

Dental implants are titanium screws that are surgically placed into the jaw bone, by an experienced dental implantologist to replace the roots of missing teeth. The procedure is usually very minimally invasive and can be done under local anesthetic. Sedation or general anesthesia can also be used if preferred by patients. After implant placement, it is usually left undisturbed for about 4 months to integrate and create a strong bond to surrounding bone. At this time the implant is stable enough to be loaded, meaning a porcelain tooth to be attached to implant and act as a functioning tooth.

If several teeth are missing more implants are placed to support multiple teeth. For example 2 dental implants are placed to support a 3 teeth bridge, 3 implants are used to support a 5 or 6 teeth bridge, and 4 to 6 dental implants can be used to replace all missing teeth in upper or lower jaw.

The whole procedure is usually performed quite seamlessly and our patients are always surprised how easy and painlessly it was done. They are also thrilled at the final result and comment that it exceeded their expectations

The following case represents a young female patient with very challenging dental condition.
